2018 Indiana State Finger Style Guitar Championship

The Fifth Annual Indiana String Fest and Indiana State Finger Style Guitar Championship were held July 27th through 29st at the Brown County Playhouse in Nashville, Indiana. World renown featured performers and competitors filled the house for a full weekend of internationally acclaimed finger style guitar music and competition.

Fifteen competitors waited patiently for their turn to compete in the competition. The second round of competition consisted of the top five scorers from the first round.

Bill Russell from Washington, MI won top honors and a handcrafted OC Bear guitar donated by Clint Bear, luthier, at OC Bear Guitars of Madison, Indiana.

Adam Cantor from Indianapolis, Indiana won second place, and Tomofumi Shimoda from Tanabe, Wekayama, Japan won third place.

The Brown County Playhouse was filled to capacity for the Indiana State Finger Style Guitar Championship. Final rounds of competition were videotaped and will be available on YouTube.

Bill Russell is invited to represent Indiana at the International Finger Style Guitar Championship hosted by the Walnut Valley Festival, to be held September 12th through 16th in Winfield, Kansas.
