2017 Mid-East Regional Dulcimer Champions Announced

Coshocton Dulcimer Days Festival celebrated three days of workshops, concerts and competitions June 16th -- 18th at Roscoe Village in Coshocton, Ohio.

The Mid-East Regional Dulcimer Championships were featured during the Sunday concert.

Winners of the Mid-East Regional Mountain Dulcimer Championship are: 1st Place: Sarah Lockard, Oberlin, Ohio 2nd Place: Tish Wesman, Beckley West Virginia 3rd Place: J.D. LaBash, Austintown, Ohio

Arkansas State Finger Style Guitar Champion Announced

Thumb Picking workshops, a Traditional Thumb Picking Guitar Contest and the 3rd Annual Arkansas State Finger Style Guitar Championship filled the Ozark Folk Center in Mountain View, Arkansas with guitar players of all talent levels May 19th and 20th, 2017.

Ozark Folk Center Announces 2017 Southern Regional Dulcimer Champions

The Ozark Folk Center hosted the 40th Annual Dulcimer Jamboree in Mountain View, Arkansas. The Dulcimer Jamboree provided workshops in both mountain and hammer dulcimers at all levels of playing skills. Evening concerts featured workshop instructors along with their regular cast of local and regional bands. The Saturday evening concert featured the contestants of the Southern Regional Mountain Dulcimer Championship and the Southern Regional Mountain Dulcimer Championship.

Less than 2 Weeks Left on December Special Ticket Prices

The Walnut Valley Association today is releasing a partial list of hired performers for the 46th annual Walnut Valley Festival which will be held this year beginning with workshops and the 2016 Contest Champions Concert on September 13th and the full festival running September 14 through 17 at the Winfield Fairgrounds. December Special priced tickets are still on sale today through February 15th for music fans that want to take advantage of the biggest savings per ticket.

Voucher Applications No Longer Available

The deadline has passed for turning in requests for to be issued a credit voucher to cover electric and camping costs related to the flooding of the campgrounds during the 2016 Walnut Valley Festival.

Decision Reached Regarding Festival Electric / Camping Credit Vouchers

After discussion with all organizations involved, it has been decided that campers who were forced to move from the Winfield Fairgrounds to alternate campground locations prior to the start of the 2016 Walnut Valley Festival may submit requests for a voucher to receive 2017 festival credit for extra expenses incurred as a result of this inconvenience. The request for vouchers will be considered on an individual basis, using information received and Walnut Valley records.

The latest on Camping / Electric Options

September 30, 2016 The Walnut Valley Association and the City of Winfield are continuing to pursue options for campers from the previous Walnut Valley Festival that were forced to relocate from the Winfield Fairgrounds just prior to the start of this year’s festival. A meeting to have been this week with the City of Winfield had to be rescheduled due to a conflict and is expected to take place next week.
