2017 Arkansas State Finger Style Guitar Champion Announced

posted Thu., Jun 8th, 2017 Thumb Picking workshops, a Traditional Thumb Picking Guitar Contest and the 3rd Annual Arkansas State Finger Style Guitar Championship filled the Ozark Folk Center in Mountain View, Arkansas with guitar players of all talent levels May 19th and 20th, 2017.

The Ozark Folk Center hosted the 3rd Annual Arkansas State Finger Style Guitar Championship in conjunction with the workshops. Guitarists from all over the United States competed for cash prizes and the opportunity to represent Arkansas in the International Finger Style Guitar Championship to be held September 13th through 17th, 2017 at the Walnut Valley Festival in Winfield, Kansas.

Winners of the Arkansas State Finger Style Guitar Championship are First Place: Travis Bowman from Alexander, Arkansas. Evan Twitty, from Vincennes, Arkansas, won Second Place and Aaron Edward, from Broken Arrow, Oklahoma won Third place.
