We thank those who submitted entries for our Marquee Mirror Virtual Talent Show. Unfortunately, we did not have enough entries to warrant a contest. We are sure you will agree, though, that the entries we received show a lot of talent.
If you would like to see them in person, we plan on having them on display at Gallery 1001 on their First Friday event on April 1, 5-7pm.

About "Afternoon Dancing Llama"
“Afternoon Dancing Llama” features a mixture of fun colors painted on the llama and beads and hand-made pom-poms sewn onto a canvas. Dots and stars surround the llama making the afternoon sky. The llama is loving this day!

I enjoy putting my love of hand embroidery with my love for machine piecing together in quilts. I have been piecing quilts for approximately 25 years and have been hand embroidering since I was a small child. Most of my inspirations come from my fellow quilting friends and guild.

The quilt has hand embroidered scenes of old cars and car ‘stuff’ done in black – with the quilt blocks done in dark batik fabrics. The quilt measures 61 x 68 inches.

Small succulents and cacti sit on a windowsill dreaming of growing up to be the proud tall cacti growing in the wild, beyond the window. This piece was created using recycled cardboard, watercolor and tempera puck paint, glitter glue, tissue paper, and black and white accents.

This happy colorful abstract piece was was created using watercolors, acrylic, sharpies, cut paper, stickers, and embellishments. Some shapes are raised off the surface to give it a 3-D appearance with shadows adding to the complexity of the piece.
